Dave Navarro’s involvement in Rock Star caused Jane’s Addiction to break up

With Rock Star effectively cancelled–at least, it hasn’t been renewed for a third season by CBS–there’s now news about the show’s impact, beyond a new lead singer for INXS and a ridiculously named band that bombed.

Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell said that when the band’s guitarist, Dave Navarro, got the job hosting Rock Star, the band dissolved. “My band broke up basically over reality TV, and I just couldn’t believe it,” he said, Blabbermouth.net reports, citing a report from Launch Radio Networks.

Farrell has a new band, Satellite Party, which unlike Dave Navarro, will be on CBS this summer: they’re appearing on Letterman tonight.
