Survivor 15 will be filmed in China

Survivor is heading to China for its 15th season.

With that, the show moves “away from an island setting for the first time since the sixth installment, set in the Amazon jungle,” Variety reports.

Dan Bollinger’s Survivor Maps has speculated about a China location for a while now, and has maps of possible island locations. Of course, Variety’s report suggests it will move inland.

The paper notes that the presence of “U.S. entertainment projects in mainland China had been rare, due to logistical and government restrictions. … CBS’s lensing of an entire series is a precedent for an American network.”
