Bravo gives Paula Abdul her own series, Hey Paula!

Paula Abdul now has a vehicle by which to entertain the public other than American Idol and local news shows. Bravo has ordered a docudrama series called Hey Paula! that will air sometime this year.

According to Bravo, the new “series will provide a candid real look at the ‘American Idol’ judge, pop star, choreographer and multi-platinum artist, as she takes two steps forward, and two steps back into the spotlight, giving an inside perspective on her professional and personal life.”

In case the “two steps” part wasn’t obvious enough, Bravo says later in the release that the show “reveals the ups and downs of Abdul.” So, we can expect lots of downs.

Still, Paula said, “I’m excited to open the doors to Bravo and have all my fans see the other sides to me, beyond what they see on ‘American Idol’.” And Bravo’s Lauren Zalaznick promises “an intimate glimpse at the real woman behind the headlines.”ship programs throughout the country.
