Julia DeMato arrested for drug posession, DUI

American Idol 2 finalist Julia DeMato was arrested Saturday night for DUI and “charged with possession of narcotics, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana,” according to reports.

Police “found two marijuana pipes and a small quantity of marijuana” in her car, in addition to “a glassine baggie with a small amount of white powder in DeMato’s purse that field tested positive for cocaine,” the Danbury News-Times reported yesterday. She bonded out and will be in court Dec. 16.

“I am not a drug user. This was just a misunderstanding. It’s going to be taken care of in court and that’s that,” she told the paper.
