Survivor casting at open calls.

Survivor is shaking things up a bit and making a number of stops around the country to cast for season 12 of the show. For the most part, the series tends to cast through individuals sending video tapes–and whenever its casting director finds an obnoxious asshole at a bus stop. But now, over the next week, casting directors are visiting cities from Gainesville, Fla., to Saginaw, Mich.

Regular, mail-in applications are due June 17, with in-person interviews taking place in August for about 800 people, followed by semi-final auditions in September. The 12th season will be shot between October and December, according to the application.
