A few new series have been announced over the past few days:

  • Venus and Serena Williams will star in a six-episode series for ABC Family. TV Week reports that it “will follow the sisters on and off the court.”
  • MTV is getting into the “series with the word ‘Project’ in the title” reality show game, partnering with Seventeen magazine to create Project Seventeen. The network will air a 10-episode series based upon Seventeen’s annual search “search for what it calls America’s Sweetheart,” The New York Times reports.
  • American Idol 2‘s Kimberley Locke is pitching a series titled Aren’t You That Girl?. Billboard reports that it “will follow the singer as she records her second solo album and plans her wedding to high school sweetheart Don Campbell.” The title, her manager says, comes because “People stop her all the time–airports especially–and they ask, ‘Aren’t you that girl from ‘American Idol?’”
