The aptly titled Marisa’s American Idol Audition Training Blog chronicles, well, Marisa’s training for her forthcoming American Idol 4 audition in San Francisco on Oct. 4. Marisa S. Olson is “a Ph.D. candidate in film and digital media at the University of California, Berkeley,” according to the New York Times, and her blog details her obsessive quest. Witness: She’s working on “assembling my audition team” and “soul preparation”, and is even taking the time to “practice entering the parking lot quickly and scope out a campsite” and–get this–writes that she is “researching camping gear and occasionally [sleeping] in sleeping bags, just to practice regulating my body temperature.” She’s also trying to get in touch with William Hung to get advice.
