Big Brother creator casts himself in lead role of German Apprentice rip-off.
The sadist, er, creator of Big Brother is creating a knock-off version of The Apprentice. Better, John de Mol, a Dutch producer, is casting himself in the lead role of the new show. The show is called Hire or Fire, and “will test 10 candidates for the position of creative director for de Mol’s new production shingle, after his departure at Endemol,” Variety reports. The paper says it’s “an Endemol rival” to the Trump show, so it’s apparently not an official The Apprentice. It will air on Germany’s ProSieben network.
