all 117 Idol finalists were screened; producer says they aren’t “judgmental.”
American Idol 3 producers are practically taunting The Smoking Gun to uncover something about one of the finalists, bragging that they did background checks on every one of the people who made it to Hollywood. “This year, for the first time ever, we screened all of the 117 that came through to Pasadena. Normally we only screen the final 32,” Ken Warwick tells MTV. Any bets as to how long it’ll take The Smoking Gun to nail one of the finalists? Warwick also indirectly defends their decision to boot Frenchie Davis last year: “If a girl’s worked in a strip bar but she’s a great singer, we don’t care. But if there is something that is seriously going to bring the show in disrepute, for any reason, it’s up to the legal side of FOX and 19.”
