Pop Idol 2 winner Michelle McManus’ debut single, “All This Time” (listen to it on her web site), has debuted at number one on the UK singles chart. That makes her “the first Scottish singer to debut at No. 1 on the British singles chart,” as Billboard reports. With more than 40,000 copies sold, Michelle’s song replaces Michael Andrews and Gary Jules’ single; Michelle’s single sold four times as many copies as “Mad World” did.
