American Idol has finally produced something other than a spat with a puppet and animal rights group: Both seasons winners have been nominated for Grammy awards. “Miss Independent” earned Kelly a nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, and “Superstar” earned Ruben a nomination for Best R&B Male Vocal Performance. The winners will be announced Feb. 8 on CBS. Tomorrow, just under two months after the release of Clay Aiken’s album, American Idol 2 winner Ruben Studdard’s album Soulful hits stores.
