Elisabeth is The View’s new co-host.
Survivor Australia‘s Elisabeth Filarski Hasselbeck was selected by a unanimous vote of the four women of The View to be their new co-host. She beat out The Real World San Francisco‘s Rachel Campos, who previously lost the co-host spot to Lisa Ling, whose spot Elisabeth filled. Soap star Erin Hershey Presley also was in the running. Barbara Walters tells E! that “[a]ll three of our final contestants were very special and talented young women, but Elisabeth seemed just right, and our viewers’ emails, telephone calls and letters truly supported our choice.”
