report: World Idol may air Dec. 24.
Plans for World Idol are well underway, and the contest episode may tape Dec. 17 and air Dec. 24, according to a report from South Africa’s News 24. Those dates would presumably be worldwide air dates. The results show would air Jan. 7, after the world has 24 hours to vote. Winners of Idol shows from 12 countries will participate; viewers will not be able to vote for their own country’s contestant. Earlier, The Sydney Morning Herald reported that the show “will be shot in a concentrated format rather than as a series.”
+ also: UK will air Celebrity Pop Idol, from which Geri Halliwell has been banned by Simon Cowell.
