American Idol 3 may add Pop Idol’s Pete Waterman as a fourth judge.
Simon, Paula, and Randy may have company at the judging table next season. Ananova reports that he’s “ready to sign a £1 million deal” to appear on American Idol 3, although since auditions have already been held, he probably wouldn’t be on the show until the finalists were selected. Waterman is, according to a BBC profile, a “gravedigger turned steam-train buff and pop Svengali.” He managed Kylie Minogue, Bananarama, and other artists. The past life as a gravedigger ought to come in handy if he sits next to Paula Abdul; maybe he can dig her long-dead integrity a hole.
