Another late ’80s, early ’90s rapper is reportedly going to participate in The WB’s The Surreal Life, along with a jailed televangelist’s ex-wife and gay icon. Vanilla Ice and Tammy Faye Messner have both reportedly signed on for The Surreal Life 2, which started taping today along with other B-list celebrities including Ron Jeremy, Erik Estrada, and The Real World Las Vegas‘s Trishelle, according to TV Guide. Vanilla Ice, a.k.a. Rob Van Winkle, once trashed the set of an MTV show that was retiring his video for “Ice Ice Baby,” and “descended into a drug-fueled suicide attempt five years” before that, according to an AP story. After divorcing televangelist Jim Bakker when he went to jail, Tammy Faye went on to host a talk show with Jim J. Bullock, and has become “an unlikely icon for the gay community.”
