Clay Aiken’s record is number one.
Selling three times as many copies as Kelly Clarkson’s album did in its first week, Clay Aiken’s Measure of a Man has landed at number one on Billboard’s Hot 200 chart. The record sold 612,850 copies last week, easily making Clay the reigning American Idol first-week sales champion. Entertainment Tonight reports that Clay’s numbers represent “the biggest first week for a debut solo artist in 10 years.”
