Simon signs three-year Idol, production deal with FOX; Cupid debuts tonight.
American Idol 3–and maybe two other shows after it–will definitely include Simon Cowell. Simon signed a three-year deal with FOX to both star on the show and produce his own shows, of which FOX gets first dibs. His first non-Idol show, Cupid, debuts on CBS tonight at 10 p.m. ET. It’s a dating show that lets the woman and her friends audition the men at first, and then hands the process over to audience voting for the final decisions. It stars Lisa Shannon, a woman who was rejected from Survivor but recruited to star in this series.
