residents don’t want next Challenge to be filmed in Newport neighborhood.
Plans for the next Real World/Road Rules Challenge have the show staying in the United States and filming in a mansion in Newport, Rhode Island. The town’s mayor “thinks it could pump $4 million into the local economy,” but residents aren’t happy, according to the Providence Journal. A lawyer representing them says the mansion, located at 533 Bellevue Ave., would be “a party house” that doesn’t project “the image Newport needs to portray.” The city council will vote tonight on whether or not to grant Bunim-Murray permission to film there.
