From Justin to Kelly out today; theatres threatened boycott.
The wait is over: the non-American Idol themed movie starring Justin Guarini and Kelly Clarkson, aptly titled From Justin to Kelly, is in theatres today (find showtimes). It’s rated “PG for thematic elements, sensuality and brief language,” and the plot has something to do with spring break. The movie wasn’t screened for critics, but The Kansas City Star saw it and says it “is a better-than-expected diversion that likely won’t leave anyone feeling cheap or cheated.” The video version was “originally scheduled for late July until theater owners beefed about the short window” and threatened to boycott the film,” The San Bernardino County Sun reports. Now it’ll be out in Sept.
