more watched American Idol 2 and Survivor than early war coverage.
American Idol 2 on FOX and Survivor Amazon on CBS prevailed in the ratings opposite NBC’s coverage of the war on Wednesday evening. “When the war coverage went directly against reality programming, it fell particularly short,” CBS MarketWatch reports. American Idol 2 won the second half of the 8 p.m. hour, when the live elimination show aired opposite Survivor Amazon; war coverage on NBC came in third. The two shows will face off again next week as Survivor airs on Wednesday evening again.
