American Idol 2 finalist Jaered charged with assault in deadly bar fight.
Jaered Andrews was disqualified from American Idol 2 in late January reportedly because he was a member of a pop group. But it may have been because during a night out celebrating his semifinal success on the show, he punched a guy in the face, causing the guy to fall on to the sidewalk, upon which the guy hit his head and later died as a result. According to the police report, obtained by The Smoking Gun, he’s been charged with simple assault, a misdemeanor, and has been released on bail; his friend was charged with aggravated assault for punching the guy after he hit the ground.
