judge says ABC’s I’m a Celebrity… doesn’t directly copy Survivor.
ABC can air I’m a Celebrity–Get Me Out of Here after CBS lost its legal challenge against producer Granada. CBS said the show was too similar to Survivor, but “the judge said that programme-making was ‘a continual evolutionary process involving borrowing frequently from what has gone before” and that both shows borrowed heavily from earlier formats,’” The Guardian reports. The show “will go into production soon in Australia and will be screened this spring,” the paper reports.
