More than 50,000 people auditioned for American Idol 2 last fall, and tonight they face Simon, Paula, and Randy as the second season of the show debuts at 8 p.m. ET on FOX with a special 90-minute show. The debut continues tomorrow night with another 90-minute show starting at 8:30 p.m. It will air regularly on Tuesdays at 8 and Wednesdays at 8:30. Host Ryan Seacrest says he hasn’t talked to booted co-host Brian Dunkleman since last season, and says the talent is “better” this year.
