After making Billboard history by jumping more places on the Hot 100 chart than a single ever had before, American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson’s single “Before Your Love/A Moment Like This” (now on DVD for $8) has been named the Best Selling Single of the Year by Billboard. “It’s unusual to have a retail single to begin with and it’s even more unusual to have one sell decent numbers. … This is the first [single] to sell more than 200,000 since 1999 so those are pretty big accomplishments,” Billboard’s director of charts, Geoff Mayfield, tells Zap2it.com.
