Joining Ryan Seacrest as co-host of American Idol 2 will be Kristin Holt, a semi-finalist from the show’s first season. She’ll replace Brian “The Dunkleman” Dunkleman. Kristin apparently volunteered herself for the job, according to, calling the producers and then auditioning for the position. One person seems happy with her selection: Simon Cowell. “Ryan seems to have gotten boring, hasn’t got much to say. Kristin, she lights up a room, something Ryan isn’t able to do. Interesting,” he tells Extra.
