USA Network plans Idol-like search for a country music star.
The USA Network is planning an American Idol-like reality TV show that will end with a recording contract being awarded to a country music performer. Nashville Star will audition performers in more than 30 cities starting tomorrow in Nashville. After five regional competitions that will take place early next year, 10 finalists will compete for a recording contract with Sony. The series is expected to air in March.
