CTV plans Canadian Idol.
Citing the success of American Idol, Canada’s CTV has signed a deal with FremantleMedia and 19TV to produce Canadian Idol. “Complete details of the series, its hosts and judges, including details of the nation-wide search for a superstar will be unveiled shortly,” the network says. CTV already aired American Idol, and plans to air American Idol 2 before debuting its own contest.
