producers of Survivor parody film say they were threatened with legal action.
The producers of a Survivor parody film called “Wilderness Survivor: The Game” say they’ve been threatened by agents of the real CBS show. Buddy Howard and Gregory L. Corner III say they’ve received five calls telling them to “kill” the film or else there will be “legal action and possible future blackballing within the industry”; they say the calls were received after they sent copies of the film to Showtime and Comedy Central, both of which are owned by CBS’ parent company, Viacom. A CBS spokesperson “doubted whether the calls were even made,” but then said, “It sounds to me like (Howard and Corner) are infringing upon our copyrights,” the AP reports.
