Around 100 people have been making as many as 10,000 calls to vote for American Idol contestants. Using software or redialers, they’re able to make that many calls within the two-hour window of time during which telephone votes are permitted. Producers say “these calls have had a ‘statistically insignificant’ impact on the outcome,” the AP reports.
