Survivor 5 wants to tape in Thailand.
Rumors about South or Central America being the location for Survivor 5 aside, producers have apparently decided upon a national park in southern Thailand as their ideal filming location. As Reuters reports, the deal “is 90 percent done” according to an official, although environmental groups could challenge the decision, especially after the 1999 filming of The Beach reportedly caused significant environmental damage to another location in Thailand. However, the director of Thailand’s film board says, “We will ask environmentalists to help keep a close eye on them. This will not be another The Beach.”
