Pop Idol winner’s single sold 1.1 million copies in its first week.
Pop Idol winner Will Young’s first single, Anything Is Possible / Evergreen became the fastest selling single ever in the UK after selling 1,108,269 copies–breaking and doubling the record set by Popstars group Hear’Say. Despite that success, Will may not appear on Top of the Pops because of a dispute his record company is having with the show’s producers; his label wants him to sing both of the single’s songs, but the BBC show has never before featured an artist performing two songs.
