Survivor sued over theme song.
A musician who says he gave permission for only outtakes from his 1987 album to be used in the Survivor theme song is suing Mark Burnett and Russell Landau, the theme song’s composer. Paul Winter–who leads a Grammy-winning group that Landau was once a part of–wants $800,000 for samples of his album Earthbeat he says were used in the theme song without his permission.
