Talking to the Kentucky Kernel, Kevin Powell, a cast member of the original The Real World, said that being on the show “simply reinforced for me how powerful pop culture is in America.” He also talks about social change. “Young people are the future of this country, as always, and the most open to different ideas.” And by using the condescending phrase “young people” so many times, it’s clear Kevin isn’t one of them any more; the New York season aired almost 10 years ago.
